This is one of those stories of the 'people' which is often ignored. 1624 cattle raiding, stripping people naked and other assorted behaviour. It's picked up in Stuart McHardy's School of the Moon 'The Highland Cattle Raiding Tradition, 2004 pages 170-173. As said, it's about the people, so it's a nice change.

This records Magnus Crowner, Thomas Crowner (his son), a bit of early Gunn history and assorted Caithness worthies, especially Sutherlands of Torboll who become Lords Duffus. It provides a name for the Crowner and his son. I question this elsewhere...
