Papers On Sutherland Estate Management 1802-1816
Papers on Sutherland Estate Management 1802-1816 edited by R. J. Adam for the Scottish Historical Society, published by T. and A. Constable, 1972.
It is obvious that the papers from the Sutherland Estate have not been fully explored; as I make clear elsewhere the Kinbrace paper from 1714 which I found hugely alters the 'Kinbrace' line as it's a very good senior descendant of the Chief line.
As well, this book clearly overturns the fiction (which was previous 'history') about the end of the Kinbrace line as I have already made clear.
Anyway, I thought I'd add Gunns from the Index as it has many places given, so people might know if it could relate to them, remember the time period. It includes 'Kinbrace' and other interesting material--
Gunn, Alexander, Culmaily
Gunn, Alexander, Drumdivan
Gunn, Alexander, Kildonan
Gunn, Alexander, schoolmaster, Rogart
Gunn, Alexander, Syre
Gunn, Anne, Sallichtown
Gunn, Donald, Junior, Badanloch (Badenloch?)
Gunn, Donald, Senior, Badanloch
Gunn, Donald, Kildonan
Gunn, Donald, Mid Badanloch
Gunn Donald, wright, Sallichtown
Gunn, George, lieutenant, sub-factor, Assynt
Gunn, Hugh, Sallichtown
Gunn, John, Badanloch
Gunn, John, Dunrobin Glen
Gunn, John, Golspie
Gunn, Robert, Kildonan
Gunn, Robert, fox-hunter
Gunn, William, lieutenant Achnahow
Gunn, William, Culmaily
Gunn, William, Fourpenny
Gunn, Widow, Kinbrace
Gunn, Widow, Sallichtown
Gunn, 'blank', woodkeeper, Torgarrow.
I have no idea of the usefulness of each reference. Note I have not cross referenced against Gunn places, which may well offer further useful details.
