Thomas Sinclair supplement 1; 2. 12. 1902
This first 'Supplement' by Thomas Sinclair covers the death of Lieutenant William Gunn, who was 'Chief' of the Clan Gunn, on 10 September 1780. He died in the Second Anglo-Mysore War of 1779-1784 (India). A modern, 'non-Empire' view of the event can be found at http://publishing.cdlib.org/ucpressebooks/view?docId=ft038n99hg&chunk.id=s1.1.2&toc.id=ch01&brand=ucpress
For historians of India, or those researching Sottish military involvement in the Empire, William Gunn provides an excellent example of the unintended consequences of the deaths of single individuals.
