I thought I should mention the excellent - and free - 'Trove' site of the National Library of Australia. It's digitised newspapers, in particular, I find very useful.
The Trove website is http://trove.nla.gov.au/ and an example of its use is the below link to an interview with the Rev. Dr. Gunn who was one of the medical missionaries on the staff of the Presbyterian Missionaries in the New Hebrides. See http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/14196253?searchTerm=Gunn&searchLimits=
The Rev Dr Gunn has appeared elsewhere on this site including his 'History of Dirlot Cemetery' see http://clangunn.weebly.com/a-history-of-dirlot-cemetery-part-1.html ....
More is to come on Dr. Gunn...
And for 'Assisted British Immigration to Victoria (Australia) 1839-1871' - assisted meaning in most cases the government paid the fare - see http://prov.vic.gov.au/index_search?searchid=24
